Feel For

‘Feel For’

Feel For is a project by Kennedy Yanko featuring an immersive installation and collaborative performance with artist Nana Ya Asare Boadu. This project was shown as part of the BRIC Arts Brooklyn group exhibition, “Alchemy,” summer of 2018. Incorporating the use of repurposed industrial metals such as tin ceiling and inherently natural materials such as moss and water, Yanko's work provided a built environment for the psyche to reimagine its dogmatic constructs; it dismantled the white picket fence mentality, shattering the confines that traditional ideals can create. Feel For recognizes that the individual is paramount, and deserves to be seen as such.

In her performance, Boadu responded to the sculptural objects and landscape that Yanko actualized, making the physical nuances of Yanko’s work palpable to the viewer. Boadu's intuitive movement demonstrated an elevated perception that transcended the conceptual structure of this piece.
